Are you a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with equivalent comprehensive clinical training and experience looking for a refreshing and challenging new role? 

Do you have experience of dealing with complex patient cases and situations as part of a multi-disciplinary team?

We are looking for someone to join our friendly and supportive team of clinical advisers on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Adviser to join our team of Clinicians in our evolving and innovative Referral Service.  Our Clinical Adviser role encourages you to utilise your clinical skills to support patients through the referral process and their journey across the health care system.  You will clinically assess and interpret patient records and referral letters, to validate patient suitability for treatment, intervention, or further assessment. 

The post holder will also be required to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including patients, Referral Service administrative staff, team managers, GP Practices and Providers.

Knowledge, Training and Experience

Essential criteria
  • • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area Significant Demonstrable post registration experience, with direct patient facing assessment and practice in a clinical setting. Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of clinical knowledge and practice after qualification and preceptorship. Current clinical registration as a Nurse or Allied Health Professional with equivalent comprehensive clinical training and experience. Experience in patient communications. Previous experience in audit and research. A good understanding of the health and social care environment and roles and responsibilities within it.
Desirable criteria
  • Clinical Triage experience across multiple clinical specialties.

Communication Skills

Essential criteria
  • • Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills; capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences Skills for communication on complex matters and difficult situations, requiring persuasion and influence. Skills for nurturing key relationships and maintaining networks Able to work autonomously, as part of a wider team, managing own workload Be adaptable to meet the needs of the service and organization Able to build professional relationships with Clinical teams with a view to supporting continuous professional development and revalidation

  • • Ability to analyse and interpret very complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources. Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information within contentious situations using experience to make inferences and take decisions where there may be a number of possible courses of action. Problem solving skills and ability to respond to sudden unexpected demands. Independent thinker with demonstrated good judgement, problem-solving and analytical skills.
