In Wiltshire we have a strong focus on co-production to continually improve services and this post will be integral to further developing and delivering future services ensuring the service user and carer view is driving improvement .
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Involvement Coordinator to work within Community and Inpatient Services. In this post you will predominantly liaise and work with Service Users and carers from a diverse range of backgrounds and communities who are currently or have recently been involved with Wiltshire mental health services.
Main duties of the job
As the Involvement Coordinator, you will have regular contact with managers of Wiltshire AWP services including Service Managers, Matron, Team and Ward Managers and the Senior Management Team. You will routinely link in with the Trust’s Patient Experience team to ensure learning across the organisation.
You may have personal/lived experience of a mental health condition and have experience of working within both the statutory and voluntary sectors and a commitment to valuing the expertise that each sector brings.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will champion service user and carer involvement in the Wiltshire locality, across community and inpatient services.
The post holder will have experience of mental health problems and will be able to draw upon this experience in all areas of their role.
The post holder will support the development of service user & carer involvement opportunities and groups for AWP and as part of a growing integrated care delivery to Mental Health.
The post holder’s role includes:
- Support & work with individual service users & groups with involvement activities and projects within the locality, within a co-production model.
- Liaise & work with a range of service user and carer led networks and groups across the locality.
- Support groups and projects & ensure co-production is central .
- Work with inpatient teams to ensure service user and carer involvement is embedded in practice.
- Work in line with Trust and NHS England strategies for service user involvement, engagement, participation and social inclusion.
- Identify service user and carer representatives who are willing to be involved in Wiltshire Locality projects/groups/meetings and keep details of the service user representatives on a Trust database.
- Support the development and delivery of training programmes with a range of service users and carers.
- Identify strategies and ways of working that bring forward the views of service users and carers that are traditionally marginalised, and that represent a diverse range of communities.
- Advise and work with the locality to develop a plan for service user involvement, this may involve collating information and/or informing the locality.
- Work with the locality and their staff to develop best practice in service user involvement and embed this as part of the mainstream practice. This will include delivering service user and carer involvement training to staff, advising and working with staff to measure the outcomes of these initiatives e.g. service user evaluation tools.
- Participate in Trust wide groups, initiatives and activities to bring forward service users perspectives; this will include giving presentations.
- Link in with other locality Involvement Coordinators and the Trust’s Patient Experience team to ensure consistency around service user and carer involvement across the Trust.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree level or professional or vocational qualification (NVQ, HND, RMN, CQSW etc.) in health or social care subject or equivalent level of knowledge
Experience

- Developed knowledge of voluntary & community support sector

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
