NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant

Our award winning trusts recognise that our colleagues are our most valuable resource, we are proud of the excellent levels of service our Trust provides to our service users and the dedication and conscientiousness of our colleagues. With over 10,000 colleagues working for our trusts in a very wide range of services, we aim to provide a supportive, inclusive environment in which our colleagues can thrive.

Job overview

We’re excited to be offering you the chance to join our team of 25 consultants, as a consultant cross-sectional Radiologist. This new post reflects the ever-increasing demand for cross-sectional imaging in a friendly and expanding radiology department within a hospital rated by the CQC as Good, and Outstanding for caring. As the dominant provider of diagnostic imaging in the county we work closely with colleagues in surrounding Trusts to deliver services to a catchment of over 544,000.

We are a dynamic, ambitious and progressive, high performing department, with over 98% of reports completed within 2 weeks.

There is great local expertise, and you will work along-side current and former presidents of many leading Radiology Societies, including The BSPR, BSGAR and BSIR.

Interviews will be held on Friday 17th January 2025.

Main duties of the job

An interest in paediatric, thoracic, head & neck, GI/GU or neuroradiology is desirable, but we will happily consider candidates with other subspecialty interests. You’ll work in a department with 3 MRI scanners, 4 CT scanners, 5 Ultrasound bays, as well as benefiting from onsite static PET-CT scanner and purpose-built oncology centre.

As well as this, we work in partnership with Taunton Diagnostic Imaging Centre to provide further services to our patients. Additionally, we have recently merged with Yeovil District Hospital.
