Therapy Assistant Acute Services

Band 3

Job overview

We have an excellent opportunity to join the Acute Therapy Team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. As a Therapy Assistant, you will be involved in the care of patients requiring assessment and treatment during an inpatient admission, working closely with Specialist Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The Acute Therapy Team has recently undergone a restructure and the successful candidates will have the opportunity to rotate into, and build skills in, surgery, respiratory and medicine.  The teams support the full patient pathway including the facilitation of discharge, patient flow and care in the community.

Main duties of the job

You will work within our Acute Specialist Therapy teams at Doncaster and at  Bassetlaw Hospitals, however this position is predominantly based at
Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

You will work alongside qualified Therapists but also work independently managing your own patient caseload. You must have great communication and time management skills. Documentation is an integral part of the role and you will be expected to document within patients’ records. Computer skills are essential as you will be accessing patient details.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to understand the patients’ needs and motivate them throughout their journey is an essential part of this role.

In this role you will be joining our established Acute Therapy Team in order to provide a seamless therapy service for our patients.

If you are caring, hardworking, self-motivated and able to motivate others and wish to be part of our team, then we would like to hear from you.
