An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager within the Division of Medicine.
The post holder will work within an established team consisting of 2 Business Managers, 2 Services Managers and 5 Team Leaders, along with medical and nursing teams in specified specialties.
Main duties of the job
To support the Divisional Senior Management Team (Divisional Director, Divisional Director of Ops, Directors of Nursing and Quality) and Business Managers in the efficient and effective operational management of your respective services in order to deliver continually improving high quality patient care.
The post holder has delegated responsibilities for a range of operational activities, working autonomously using initiative and their specialist knowledge and experience of services to make decisions.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification and / or equivalent experience
Experience

- Practical and theoretical knowledge of: Financial Management
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of: HR Management
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of: Performance Management
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of: Project Management
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of: 18 Week RTT Management
- Knowledge of records management code of practice
- Understands the changing NHS environment and its impact on service provision for staff
Desirable criteria
- Up-to-date knowledge of NHS system reform policy and other key policy drivers
- Proven track record of successful and sustained management in an NHS Foundation trust or similar organisation
- Involvement in NHS service development and reconfiguration
Interpersonal Skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills suitable for a range of audiences
- Substantial team leadership/supervisory experience
- Able to build rapport and credibility with a range of people in the delivery of performance targets, service delivery and change programmes.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
