Job overview
After successful appointments, we have a further excellent opportunity for a Band 6 to join our developing Physiotherapy Rotation at DBTH.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity develop their skills in the following rotations: Bassetlaw Inpatients, Orthopaedics, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Rapid Assessment Programme Team with the potential to expand into other clinical areas.
As part of the Team you will play a vital role in providing quality care for our patients over 7-days, whilst delivering the Trust’s goals of reducing length of stay, admission avoidance & optimising patients’ rehabilitation potential.
Main duties of the job
You will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis & treatment of patients with complex problems as an autonomous practitioner across each of the specialty areas.
You will support the Team Lead in the operational management of each specialty team & service developments on a local or service-wide level
You must have excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate not only patients but staff. You must be organised, flexible & able to empower others.
You will support other inpatient therapy teams with management of complex discharges and complete specialist holistic assessments.

Essential criteria
- Good communication and listening skills with an understanding of the needs of people with disabilities and their carers
- Able to present information, both written and verbally, in a clear accurate and logical manner
- Ability to work in collaboration with others and positively influence or coach others in development of skills and knowledge.
- Committed to personal and team development
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council
- Diploma/Degree in physiotherapy
- Understanding and knowledge of clinical governance issues within own clinical practice and wider implications for delivery of patient services
- IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy/British Association of Occupational Therapists
- Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience as a Band 5 physiotherapist in a broad range of areas including relevant experience in Orthopaedics/ Acute/ IDT in patient
- Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy and multidisciplinary team
- Experience in clinical audit, research and effectiveness
Organisation Skills
Essential criteria
- Time management skills
- Prioritisation skills
- Ability to delegate effectively
Desirable criteria
- Involvement in Trust/Professional activities
