NHS AfC: Band 7

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and inspirational Team Leader to work within one of our Doncaster Older Peoples Community Mental Health Team, which sits within the wider Community Mental Health Directorate.

The post holder will work with other Team Managers and Clinical Leads to ensure that the teams within their portfolio deliver high quality, safe, effective care, and provide the best possible outcomes for people using our services.

You will be a highly visible, compassionate leader with strong values that align with those of the organisation. You will lead by example, being a positive role model who inspires, motivates, and empowers our clinicians in the safe and effective delivery of Older People’s Community Mental Health services.

This is an exciting time for our Trust, and we are looking for future leaders to be part of meeting the promises our strategy makes to the communities we work in, the people who use our services, and our valued staff teams.

Main duties of the job

The post holders will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Doncaster South Locality Community Mental Health team, as well as offering support as needed to the other teams in the Community Older People’s portfolio.

The post holders will line manage a multi-disciplinary team, offering regular management supervision. The post holder will offer an expert opinion to staff on clinical matters such as risk, and appropriateness for the service.

The post holder will work with the Service Manager, Clinical Leads, and other colleagues to ensure that the services meet targets for access, assessment and treatment waiting times and clinical outcomes in line with the local and national requirements.

The post holders will liaise with GPs, other primary care mental health and physical health services to ensure good working relations and a smooth pathway of care for patients.

In conjunction with the Doncaster Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Senior Leadership Team, the postholders will create a positive safety culture, where the environment is collaboratively crafted, created, and nurtured so that everybody (individual staff, teams, patients, families, and carers) can flourish to ensure the best, safe, quality care.
