Rotherham Doncaster and South Humberside NHS Foundation Trust have successfully been delivering Mental Health Support Teams (With Me in Mind) in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire schools and colleges since 2019. Doncaster has continued to expand the service with additional teams joining in 2022, we have also been successful in another tam joining the service in Feb 2025. Doncaster, implementing ‘New Ways of Working’ within the local area. This project is underpinned by national strategies and initiatives for transforming children and young people’s mental health.
We now have two established Mental Health Support Team working across the majority of education settings in North Lincolnshire. We have an exciting band 6 opportunity within our North Lincolnshire team for a further Senior Mental Health Support Team Practitioner. We are looking to recruit a practitioner who is enthusiastic, kind, compassionate and resilient. We seek practitioners from multi-disciplinary backgrounds with a core profession such as social work, mental health nursing, or learning disability nursing with wide breath of mental health knowledge and experience.
Main duties of the job
Practitioners will work in both educational and health settings within Doncaster to support the implementation of the MHST model. The successful candidates will integrate into our already well-established mental health support team and compliment the early intervention offer within our local areas.

Qulifications
Essential criteria
- Relevant health/social care Degree or equivalent body e.g. RMN, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist with professional registration.
Desirable criteria
- Specialist Qualification in CBT, FT or other appropriate therapy Degree or equivalent
- A qualification, or have undertaken a program of formal training in Supervision
Experience
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable post qualification experience, including experience of working with young people with mild to moderate mental health problems and working with children and families in particular.
- Experience of managing and prioritising a high caseload
- Experience of Multi-Disciplinary Working
- Currently engaged in an advanced level of practice and able to demonstrate a degree of professional autonomy
- The ability to provide patient-centred assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation with children, young people, parents and families using mental health nursing skills.
- Ability to undertake Risk Assessments and identify appropriate plans in partnerships with the young person, families and other agencies
- Experience of providing supervision to junior members of staff
Desirable criteria
- Planning and delivering presentations and training to groups
- Experience in delivering comprehensive family work in a child and family setting
