Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for a 12-month fixed term position to the post of Band 5 Clinical Nurse (RMN/RLDN) on Amber Lodge within Community CAMHS. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight and experience into working on the day unit and alongside the clinical team.

Amber Lodge is an intensive, specialist mental health service for primary school aged children (5-11) who are experiencing a range of complex mental health, developmental, emotional and behavioural issues. The service is focussed on the child and family in a holistic way, providing assessment and therapeutic services both in the home, community and in a day unit setting. 

The successful applicant will join a highly experienced staff team to assist children in exploring, understanding, and managing their thoughts, feelings and emotions by offering a range of assessments and interventions. They will work alongside the multidisciplinary team at Amber Lodge to support the delivery of individually tailored care plans to meet each child’s specific requirements and contribute to the team’s formulation and assessment processes. . The nursing role will find the successful applicant working predominantly on the day unit delivering structured/ unstructured/ individual/ group based work.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 0830-1630. The successful applicant will be provided with support, training and guidance to develop and fulfil all aspects of the role. This may become a permanent post in the future.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver direct clinical care under direct / indirect supervision.
  • To assess plan, implement and evaluate nursing care.
  • To coordinate the nursing activity of the Unit over the span of individual shifts
  • To ensure that the needs of the children, young people and families are met.
  • To contribute to the development the Amber Lodge CAMHS provision

  • RMN / RN (Mental Health) or RLDN / RN (Learning Disabilities) registration or awaiting registration

  • Degree in relevant subject

Experience
