Estates Maintenance Supervisor (Interim)

Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is one of only four dedicated Children's Hospital Trusts in the UK providing integrated, highly specialist healthcare for children and young people in Sheffield, South Yorkshire and beyond.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint to the vacant post of Interim Maintenance Supervisor - 2 Year Fixed Term.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

The successful candidate will be a suitable qualified and or experienced in building maintenance in a supervisory capacity, and will be expected to assist Estates Managers and carry out a wide range of duties with a flexible approach to engineering and building maintenance, in order to meet the Estates Director's obligation to the provision of a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors within agreed quality standards.

The successful candidate will have proven supverisory experience and be suitably qualified in Building Construction with previous experience of working in a healthcare environment and will be expected to provide day to day planned and reactive maintenance support, within the estabished Estates Operational team as well as undertaking minor project works.

The successful candidate will be expected to partake in a formal on call rota, approximately every 5 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Apprentice trained; time served Building / Engineering trades person (Electrical, Plumbing mechanical or general building / Joinery).
  • City & Guilds qualification or Industry approved formal certification.

  • Scaffold Inspection Certificate CITB Registered.
  • Certified Fire door inspection training.
  • Authorised / Competent person status (under HTM).

Experience

  • Supervisory Experience.
  • Running successful ’building / engineering’ projects to completion.
  • Experience of a wide range of building/engineering maintenance.

  • NHS Experience
  • Managing potential for conflict and use experience to defuse situations.
  • Time served in the construction industry (Buildings / engineering)

Knowledge

  • Extensive building maintenance knowledge
  • Workshop Machinery, knowledge of how to use efficiently and safely.
  • Supervising qualified trades / Craft staff.

  • Understanding of scaffold safety and the correct methods of erection and use
  • Experience of a CAFM system.
  • Building management systems (BMS).
