CHILD, ADOLESCENT AND ADULT KNEE FELLOWSHIP
SHEFFIELD CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
TRAUMA AND ORTHOPAEDIC DEPARTMENT
Applications are invited for the following non-resident fellowship based at Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Chesterfield Royal Hospital, commencing Wednesday October 1st 2025 for 12 months.

This combined fellowship will allow the successful candidate to gain complete experience and the technical skills needed to practice successfully in the field of Paediatric Soft Tissue Knee pathology.
This is currently the only Fellowship of its kind in the UK and will be unrivalled in the ability to deliver high level training within this expanding field of Orthopaedic Sports Medicine.
Experience will be gained in the full spectrum of paediatric and adolescent soft tissue knee pathology with the exception of malignant bone tumours. Specifically, training will be offered in the management and treatment of conditions affecting the growing knee which spans patients in the paediatric and adolescent age groups. An emphasis will be placed on arthroscopic surgery with the full range of advanced arthroscopic procedures. In addition, experience will be gained in complex pathology such as congenital ligament deficiency and severe patellofemoral disease. The Fellowship will be under the direction of Mr. Nick Nicolaou, Mr. Fazal Ali, Mr. Paul Haslam ,Mr. Jeevan Chandrasenan and Mr. Dominic O’Dowd.

- FRCS (Tr. & Orth.) or equivalent training experience

- Presentations and publications
Experience

- Validated logbook/appraisal document indicating appropriate operative experience
- Completed Basic Surgical Training in posts approved by the surgical Royal College or approved overseas equivalent
- Have obtained, or nearly obtained, their CCT
- Competence in pre-operative and post-operative management
- Demonstrated commitment to Paediatric Orthopaedics
