Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pro- active and dedicated individual to apply for the role of MDT Coordinator within Surgical Services. The successful candidate will be based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

The post holder will work as part of a multi disciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive coordination of cancer MDT meetings and tracking patients on cancer pathways.
They will need to be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as demonstrating the ability to work independently as required. Being able to communicate effectively demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills with a wide range of departments, teams and agencies is essential. You must also have organisational skills and be able to meet deadlines.
In addition the successful candidate will need to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service and have a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Main duties of the job
- Working closely alongside the clinical teams the MDT coordinator will help identify patients who are required for discussion at the weekly MDT meeting.
- The MDT coordinator is responsible for collating the necessary information for each patient to be presented and discussed on the agenda.
- The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to the patients pathway of care. Working alongside consultants and other disciplines of staff.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of a maximum of twelve months (until July 2026) due to maternity leave of the substantive post holder. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts and statutory maternity provisions.

- NVQ III / equivalent qualification or relevant level of experience in Office Administration or IT / Information Management Systems
- English & Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or O level or equivalent experience/ qualifications

- ECDL or equivalent qualification/experience

- Relevant clinical directorate experience within the NHS or related healthcare experience
- Experience of dealing with non-routine patient pathways and problem solving to expedite barriers to timely treatment
- Relevant experience working in a multidisciplinary environment
- Office procedures – filing, keyboard skills – ability to type
- Previous office experience
- Experience / ability to work to deadlines
- Working knowledge of Lorenzo/ICE/NHS NET or similar systems
