The Senior Data Quality Coordinator is responsible for providing support to Directorates in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of data for the purposes of performance monitoring, commissioning, information governance, and any other purpose required.

The post-holder will have responsibility for the delivery of a comprehensive Data Quality engagement for the Trust. They will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including multi-disciplinary clinical teams, managers, and administrative teams across the organisation. The post-holder will advise on Data Quality issues and performance and take steps to address areas where improvement is required. This will include the review of Data Quality metrics and the ongoing delivery of support for the Trust.

To work closely with Information Services to ensure the provision of efficient and highest quality Data Quality Support to the Trust. The post holder will provide support to data quality projects, undertaking a wide variety of work that will contribute to data quality awareness and assurance within the Trust. Tasks will include maintenance of consistent and accurate data on Trust systems, providing assistance in the recording of accurate information, a regular review of data quality requirements, and support to implement any agreed solutions. The post-holder will also participate in Trust wide educational initiatives on the importance of data quality.

The Performance and Information function is part of the Chief Operating Officer’s Directorate and works closely with all areas of the organisation.

The department has the following roles:

·         Provides information to support the business planning and negotiation of the legally binding contract for the Trust (value £1bn approx.).

·         Provides a clinical coding service to ensure that the activity undertaken by the Trust is coded completely and accurately to ensure that the Trust secures the income that properly reflects its case mix complexity.

·         Provides the necessary high quality data, information and analysis to enable performance management of the Trust at a local, regional and national level.

·         Provides a central resource/support for Operators Directors/Clinical Directors/TEG.

·        Ensures that the Trust complies with the data quality aspects of the Information Governance requirements.

·        Provides management, support and training for all business as usual Trust wide Clinical IT Systems, for example Lorenzo, SystmOne, EDMS, ICE and Digital Dictation.

·       Leading the Data Management and Education and Training Workstreams of the Trust-wide EPR Implementation Programme.

Qualifications

  • GCSE C level or above in Maths and English or NVQ level 3 in Administration or equivalent experience e.g. office experience.
  • Knowledge of the Trust EPR system
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience in a Data Quality role)

Experience

  • In depth knowledge and expertise in the Trust EPR system
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups, on system support.
  • Good computer skills
  • Extensive NHS administrative experience
  • Previous experience of activities to support data quality improvement.
  • Working in an NHS Data Quality environment.
  • Understanding of basic principles of data quality analysis and recognise themes, trends associated to the data.
  • Experience of data analysis work with ability to produce reports including graphical representations.
  • Understanding of data protection legislation and its impact on the role day to day.
  • Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
