The Directorate of Gastroenterology is seeking to recruit an Endoscopy Administrative Supervisor for the Medical and Pharmacy Service Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to come and join our team in the Endoscopy Suites based in the Huntsman Building/Coleridge House at the Northern General Hospital, and in the Endoscopy Unit, P Floor at the Hallamshire Hospital.
The successful candidate will need to be an excellent team player and able to work using their own initiative. We are looking to appoint a motivated individual who must have excellent communication and organisational skills.
This dynamic and interesting role will involve working within our existing multidisciplinary supportive team, providing essential day to day administrative support for Endoscopy services.
Main duties of the job
To provide senior support and supervision to the Endoscopy Clerks, and to be responsible for co-ordination of the administrative function, ensuring an efficient and effective service for patients and clinical teams.
To facilitate effective multidiscipline team working and communication, to assist in the smooth operation of the Endoscopy administrative function. Additionally, to ensure effective organisation of the waiting lists and procedures lists, to deliver the service within the established service level agreements.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 12 months due to the post being externally funded. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the ongoing source of the external funding and the requirement for the post to be maintained.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSEs A-C including Grade C English and maths or above (or equivalent qualification/experience)
- 2 A levels or NVQ L3 in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrable commitment to furthering own learning and development.
- Further academic study
Experience
Essential criteria
- Ability to use Microsoft Packages,e.g. Word, Excel
- Experience of working in healthcare or the public sector in customer facing roles, e.g. retail, hospitality, customer care
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of National Waiting time targets & Cancer targets.
- Evidence of a previous leadership role (either in the workplace or whilst studying or extracurricular)
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Infoflex PAS / Lorenzo (or other PAS software) experience
- Experience in an administrative role
- Experience of allocating team workloads
- Experience of supervising or coaching staff (any sector)
