Job overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitably experienced health professional to gain experience in the governance agenda in a large, diverse and forward thinking care group.

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced clinician to support Integrated Community Care with the governance agenda.

The successful candidate will assist the Directorates to co-ordinate the management of all clinical/non-clinical risk for the
CCA Group.

Other duties are to work closely with the Governance team, Matrons and Service Leads to ensure that  incidents are reported, investigated, and escalated within timescales and in accordance with PSIRF and  Duty of Candour requirements and facilitate appropriate learning responses.

Main duties of the job

Assist the Directorates to co-ordinate the management of all clinical/non-clinical risk for the CCA Group.

Work closely with the governance team to co-ordinate the management of all clinical/non clinical risk.

Work closely with the Governance team, Matrons and Service Leads to ensure that  clinical incidents are reported, investigated, and escalated within timescales and in accordance with PSIRF and Duty of Candour requirements and facilitate appropriate learning responses.

Support patient safety serious investigations utilising new investigation processes.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Holds a clinical professional qualification.
  • First degree or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Accredited qualification in incident and risk Management, health and safety or associated topic; or be willing to work towards or undertake.
Desirable criteria
  • Masters level qualification.
  • Teaching certificate or equivalent qualification/experience.

Special Skills/Aptitudes

Essential criteria
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative.
  • A team player, able to influence and motivate other staff
  • Effective communicator at all levels.
  • General computer literacy skills and ability to use Microsoft office applications.
  • Good organisation and planning skills.
Desirable criteria
  • Recognised qualification in IT

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Healthcare governance experience including incident management and risk assessment.
  • Experience of the Datix system.
  • Experience of working effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Desirable criteria
  • Community experience within the care group.
  • Knowledge of the governance strategy.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Experience of report writing.
  • Evidence of change management.
