Main duties of the job

As an Administration Officer within the Ophthalmology department you will be preparing medical records ahead of patient appointments, ensuring referrals and relevant documentation are available for clinical review, and updating post-appointment information to ensure patient outcomes are correctly registered with the appropriate pathways in place.

You will need effective IT and communication skills, be highly organised and have attention to detail, and confident working both independently and alongside others colleagues in a busy environment.

Essential criteria
  • GCSE at Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level II in Business Administration / Customer Service / IT

Experience

  • Experience of working within an office environment
  • Experience of working in a public facing role
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant experience within the NHS

Special Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of / experience of using information and/or customer service systems.
