We are offering an exciting opportunity for suitable applicants to join the pharmacy clinical trials team at the Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The Clinical Trials team is expanding its workforce to increase research at Sheffield teaching hospitals. The Trust is one of the busiest and most successful NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK.

The successful applicant will be supporting the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team in the delivery of a diverse portfolio of both commercially and non-commercially sponsored studies. Ensuring all current legislation, MHRA guidelines and Good Clinical Practice standards are met. Improving patient care through research and innovation is vital to everything we do. The post holder must be able to work with medical and nursing staff and other health care professionals.
Main duties of the job
To provide administrative and dispensary support for the clinical trials sections of the Pharmacy Department.
To give support to the Clinical Trials Teams in receiving and maintaining stock control of clinical trials supplies, compassionate supplies.
To input data to a research database.
To ensure clinical trial documentation is filed appropriately, clinical trial files are up to date and version control of documents is maintained.
To maintain clinical trial files and help with stock and document reconciliation at close down.
To ensure that invoices are requested in respect of clinical trial activity, reconciliation of payments and maintenance of financial records.
To investigate enquires and queries from suppliers/customers and staff and provide assistance and advice as appropriate.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- English and Maths GCSE grade 4 (C) or above or equivalent qualification
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 2 or 3 in healthcare services or business / administration services
Experience
Essential criteria
- Relevant experience of working in the NHS, Research or Business administration.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in a hospital or a pharmacy
- Previous relevant research experience

- Formal training or experience or Commitment to undertake Microsoft Office Packages including email, word processing and spread sheets.

- On the job training for medicines handling and pharmacy/clinical trials specific IT systems.
- H&S training, knowledge of handling hazardous chemicals according to local S.O.P.s
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
