Job overview
A vacancy has arisen for a Logistics Operatives, based within Procurement Department. The post-holder will be employed and managed by Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Applicants will also have effective communication skills and hold a flexible approach to working practices. Ideally applicants should have experience of working within a team and have experience in the control of stock levels although this is not essential.
Applicants should be an effective team player with the ability to use their initiative to resolve day-to-day issues. Ideally applicants will also possess experience and knowledge of Materials Management and Receipt and Distribution systems although this is not essential.
Main duties of the job
JOB PURPOSE
- To assist in providing an efficient and effective Receipt and Distribution service to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Children’s NHS Trust wards and departments, minimising end user input in order to improve focus on patient care.
ROLE OF THE DEPARTMENT
- To provide procurement and supply chain services to a broad range of departments.
- To deliver measurable savings from revenue expenditure to support STH and SCH Cost Improvement Programme.
- To develop internal supply chain processes for the benefit of other departments.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE Grade 3/D in Maths and English or equivalent qualification/ experience.
- Prepared to undertake training in Procurement/Logistics
- Good keyboard Skills
- Computer literate using Microsoft applications
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of using IT systems.
- Experience within Customer Services environment or similar environment
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge of recognised Electronic Materials Management systems

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
