Job overview

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our existing team of Clinical Imaging assistants in Radiology.

Candidates will be expected to assist members of the multidisciplinary imaging team in delivering a high standard of care. This includes fully preparing patients and associated environments prior to imaging, including patient observations (ECG, BP, O2 saturations etc.), and other general CIA duties.

The Imaging Directorate is committed to Training and Development and encourages all aspects of CPD & role extension.

The post on offer covers all 3 sites within STH, 37.5 hours per week over 7 days, to cover weekends, nights and evenings.

Main duties of the job

 

 Assisting other members of the Multidisciplinary Imaging Team in delivering a high standard of direct patient care and associated duties.

To ensure that safe practice is carried out in accordance with departmental protocols.

To provide high quality imaging to both inpatients and out patients in all areas within Medical imaging as part of a multi-disciplinary team, whilst maintaining a high standard of patient care.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 2 or above in literacy and numeracy functional skills or equivalent experience/ qualifications

Experience

Essential criteria
  • CPD portfolio or relevant evidence
Desirable criteria
  • Experience within a Radiology department.
  • Relevant NHS or UK based experience in health care in a hospital setting
  • Excellent understanding of infection control measures.
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology

Personal Qualities

  • Effective verbal, written & IT communication skills.
  • Excellent patient care skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Providing and promoting a caring attitude.
