Anticoagulation Manager - Leighton and Macclesfield

We are seeking applications from enthusiastic, highly motivated and confident individuals to join our anticoagulation team as Anticoagulation Manager - Leighton and Macclesfield. The successful applicant would be expected to oversee delivery of the anticoagulation service at Leighton Hospital and Macclesfield District General Hospital, including numerous community clinics.   

The department provides a high quality anticoagulation monitoring service to patients through scientific and technical activities.  You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the service including personnel management, technical oversight and clinical liaison.  The ability to plan and prioritize your own workload is essential; as are highly developed communication skills and experience of engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.  You will have up to date knowledge and expertise in the speciality; and will be a Registered Biomedical Scientist (nurse or pharmacist) with significant post registration experience.

This is a fixed-term opportunity for 18 months.

Main duties of the job

 You should have experience of staff supervision / management and enjoy taking a proactive approach to problem solving. Possession of a  formal management qualification and evidence of Masters level study would be advantageous. 

The ability to manage and prioritise a complex workload with rapidly changing demands is vital, along with providing effective leadership and motivation for the whole Leighton and Macclesfield anticoagulation team. The post holder is required to provide effective operational management in line with Trust policies and procedures.

Above all, you should have a mature attitude to work with the desire to use your leadership abilities, initiative and communication skills to provide an excellent service for our patients.

Applicants will be required to use their own vehicle to travel to the various community locations for which traveling expenses will be reimbursed.

  • Educated to degree level
  • Registered with HCPC or equivalent registration body
  • Significant post registration experience and/or qualifications in a relevant field

  • Evidence of higher level study at Masters Level; Alternatively working knowledge and experience at an equivalent level
