We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and caring individual to join our teams within Inclusion Recovery Hampshire, a drug and alcohol treatment and support service for individuals impacted by their own or someone else’s use of alcohol or drugs.

We are currently recruiting an experienced group work facilitator, working alongside a teams of experienced Recovery Workers across our Fareham, Gosport and Havant sites.

The role may involve occasionally covering for other group facilitators in Hampshire, as well as supporting the hub Recovery Workers based on service need.

We have a bespoke structured group work programme which the Group Facilitator will be responsible for delivering, as well as additional groups based on the needs of the clients - this can include SMART groups, auricular acupuncture, mindfulness and meditation and substance specific groups. The successful candidate will be provided with relevant training to support the facilitation of groups, and will be a key part of our quality assurance processes around groups; participating in groupwork audits, providing peer to peer feedback to other facilitators and co-facilitating groups with others.

Main duties of the job

Full-time 12 month Fixed Term Group Facilitator Recovery Worker (working 37.5 hours per week) across the South of Hampshire (Fareham, Gosport, Havant). There is potential for this post to be extended beyond the initial 12 months.

  • Group facilitation in Inclusion Fareham, Gosport and Havant Hubs.
  • Referral and implementation of groups (structured and unstructrued)
  • Training of volunteers and other staff in group facilitation.
  • Covering other sites for group facilitation
  • Where required, supporting the team with duty or caseload management
  • Active Risk assessing and risk management

  • To plan, implement and deliver groups in Fareham, Gosport and Havant.
  • To participate in auditing and peer support for group facilitators
  • To accept referrals, assess need and make appropriate recommendations as part as a robust duty system.
  • Provide harm reduction advice, information and support with an emphasis on safer drug use, safer sex, HIV, Hepatitis A,B and C and other blood borne infections
  • To make home visits consistent with need.
  • To carry out comprehensive assessments, construct care packages with multi disciplinary colleagues where required
  • To provide a range of structured psycho-social interventions including CBT based brief solution focused therapy and motivational enhancement techniques.
  • To provide a needle exchange service.
  • Demonstrable commitment to service user involvement.
  • To work with a range of professional in ensuring service users needs in terms of safeguarding and mental health are met.
  • Encourage and work with service users to move forward in their recovery

Person specification

Qualifications

Desirable criteria
  • Foundation Degree/HNC in related field which may include counselling, social work, nursing, psychology, human resources, social studies

Skills and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in the drug and alcohol field
  • Experience in facilitating groups or programmes

Driving Licence

Essential criteria
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use (travelling between sites in the course of the role)
