Job overview

As Quality Lead for Adult Eating Disorders and Perinatal Provider Collaboratives the post holder will directly oversee and monitor the quality & safety aspects of the specialised services, commissioned through MPFT as Lead Provider including the quality assuring all such services within the West Midlands region. The person will work closely with the quality & governance team within the Lead Provider (LP) as well as maintaining strong links with the NHSE regional quality team. The role is integral in ensuring that Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust meets is Quality Assurance responsibilities and accountabilities as LP for both Adult Eating Disorders and Perinatal Mental Health.

Main duties of the job

1. To lead the delivery of the Quality Standards Assurance Visits Programme across the Provider Collaboratives that provides assurance of compliance with regulatory requirements.
2. Develop, coordinate and lead visits to teams and services, including evidence collation, to assess compliance; escalating risks and issues in a timely manner, where appropriate.
3. During the visits, gather and respond to complex and sensitive information, writing clear reports following the visit and working with teams to ensure the development of appropriate action plans.
4. To monitor, interpret and quality assure progress against deliverables to NHS England and NHS Improvement that often require adjustments specifically in relation to the complex corporate business agenda, strategic objectives and the business planning process.
5. Ensure that there is a robust training package in place to enable members of the Visit Team to undertake visits competently and confidently.
6. Lead on specific quality work streams and projects, including the delivery of a self-assessment process for teams and services to offer internal assurance.
7. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues across the region in relation to governance, assurance and compliance, helping to support and embed effective quality governance arrangements within teams and services.
8. Deliver improvements through facilitation, engagement of stakeholders, analysis, planning and project management.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The postholder will (not exhaustive):
• Directly support against the requirements of the Quality Maturity Framework
• Develop internal systems and monitoring which ensure that specialised commissioning through the Lead Provider responds appropriately to, and learns effectively from, a range of information sources including: complaints, serious incidents and patients' experience of health care across the commissioned providers
• Oversee the day-to-day management of the quality monitoring processes for adult eating disorder and perinatal mental health services within agreed standard operating procedures.
• Attend the provider contract meetings and lead the clinical quality contract meetings
• Take a lead with the new meetings as part of the governance arrangements such as the Clinical Governance meeting, lessons learned meeting, clinical network, quality & SI review meeting, weekly quality & safety meetings.
• Provide quality reports as required using both qualitative and quantitative information drawn from local, regional and national data sources, Identify emerging trends and themes and potential quality concerns
• Advise on service development proposals and business cases
• To share and embed lessons learnt and develop monthly quality surveillance and direct commissioning reports.
• Support teams to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
• To ensure policies and procedures support and reflect the activities and responsibilities outlined above.
• To oversee the Incident (PSIRF) review process.
