Job overview
We are looking for an individual to undertake a Technical Instructor post within the Medicine Therapy Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The post will work within acute wards across UHNM sites: Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital.
The successful candidate should have experience of working within a healthcare environment and an understanding of Therapy interventions. The post holder will also be expected to complete competencies in both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore there is a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays.
Supervision will be provided by the Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and personal development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.

Main duties of the job
The Therapies Department comprises of two multidisciplinary based teams, the Medical & Surgical Team and the Specialised Services Team, incorporating both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. These teams form part of the Trust Medical, Surgical and Specialised Services Divisions.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE English Grace C/ 4 or above or evidence of good literacy
- GCSE Maths Grace C/4 or above or evidence of good numeracy
Desirable criteria
- GCSE Science Grace C/4 or above
- Completed or undertaking a Therapy Apprenticeship
- A Level/NVQ Qualification
- Qualification within health/social or sports environment
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in a NHS or other Healthcare/social/Sports environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a therapy environment
- NHS experience
Skills, Ability & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to travel to and work across multiple sites
