Having great communication skills and the adaptability to use different strategies to engage with an individual at different stages of their recovery is essential in this role. Be part of change for individuals, helping them in their personal and collective journeys of recovery.
You will be using your lived experience working across the forensic directorate (sites at either Stafford or Shrewsbury) alongside other recovery college coordinators with professional and lived experience and experts by experience as a valuable part of the newly established Forensic Recovery College.

You will be working across the forensic directorate, The Hatherton Medium Secure Service at St Georges Hospital, Stafford or Clee, Low Secure Service at the Redwoods in Shrewsbury.
Along with the other college coordinators you will be responsible for day to day coordination of The Forensic Directorate Wellbeing and Recovery College.
You will work closely with the lead for the forensic recovery college to re-establish and develop the work of the college. You will also network and develop links with MPFT wellbeing and Recovery College and other recovery colleges in secure services regionally and potentially nationally.
You will be using your own lived experience to coproduce and co deliver courses as part of the forensic recovery college and supporting other lived experience trainers also involved in this work.

Be trained as a trainer in the college and to co-produce and deliver high quality recovery education courses in various subjects as agreed with the Forensic Recovery College Co-ordinators
Effective communication and liaison with trainers, including supporting trainer development and training partnerships.
Working autonomously and effectively to manage interpersonal challenges in a variety of settings, whilst appropriately using supervision.
Working alongside the Forensic Recovery College coordinator to support with other tasks such as administration, completing Individual Learning Plans (ILP’s) and producing the prospectus.
Ensure that co-production is visible throughout.
Identifying training partnerships and negotiating with trainer’s course production and delivery
Actively promoting the college with all stakeholder groups
Trained as a trainer in the college, producing and delivering courses.
Input to the reporting arrangements to support timely access to data relating to attendance of courses

QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

- NVQ Level 4 qualification in health or social care or equivalent knowledge and experience gained through any combination of alternative study, employment or voluntary work.
- Evidence of teaching/training or educational experience.
- Lived experience as a user of Forensic Services

EXPERIENCE

- Ability to demonstrate and evidence examples of coproduced working
- Evidence of building effective empathic working relationships with a broad range of people.
- Experience of working with others in supporting their development.
- Experience of planning, organising and scheduling activities of self and others in a pressured working environment with changing priorities.
- Experience of facilitating sessions with individuals or groups
