An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Imaging Directorate  for an enthusiastic and efficient individual to join the team as a Junior Operational Services Manager within the Imaging Department. 

This post offers an excellent opportunity for an individual wishing to gain exposure to a wide range of operational issues as well as staff management.

The post holder will be expected to deal with Complaints, Datix, the production and management of SOPs and well as ensuring staff are compliant with Stat & Mand training and conducting PDR’s when required.

The ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload in a fast paced and demanding working environment is essential.

Main duties of the job

The Junior Operational Services Manager (JOSM) will be responsible for the assistance of the day-to-day administration and operational management support for Main Reception Areas and Help Desk within the imaging directorate at Royal Stoke and County Hospital. The JOSM will work closely with both the Operational Services Managers (OSMs) as well as linking in when required with the Senior Operational Services Manager (SOSM) to ensure a high standard of service delivery in line with national and local targets.

The post holder will be required to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines and targets are met.

Essential

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 3 GCSE’s / O levels (Band AC) to include Maths & English or equivalent
  • IT skills at an advanced level NVQ Level 3 in admin/clerical/customer service related area
Desirable criteria
  • ECDL / other IT qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Computerised systems with the ability to use the Microsoft package.
  • Handling confidential/sensitive information.
  • Minimum of one years experience of working in the NHS or other complex organisations.
  • Minimum of one years experience of dealing with patients/public/customers, either face to face or via the telephone, on a daily basis.
  • Experience in dealing with waiting lists and targets.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in an appointment booking environment.
