Job overview

We are looking for individuals to undertake an apprenticeship as a Technical Instructor within the Medical & Surgical Therapy Team at Royal Stoke and County Hospitals. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The post holder will be part of one of two clinically based teams that make up the Therapies Directorate.

The apprenticeship will work with Newcastle and Stafford College groups to complete Level 3 ‘Senior Clinical Worker’ and Level 3 ‘Senior Healthcare Support Worker’ alongside the care certificate.

Main duties of the job

This is a rotational post between the hospital sites. The individual will be involved in patient rehabilitation, supporting the qualified Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapists. The post will include various rotations. The successful candidate should have awareness of working within a healthcare environment and/or therapy interventions. The post holder will also be expected to complete competencies in both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.

Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore there is a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays.

Supervision will be provided by the Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and personal development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.
