Placement Practice Educator

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with a passion for education and patient care? Join our dynamic team at the University Hospital of North Midlands, a leading acute hospital, within a Placement Practice Educator role.
In this role you will be involved in education and student facilitation, you will mentor and guide the next generation of students, apprentices, and healthcare professionals, ensuring they develop the skills and confidence needed to excel in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will work closely with students, apprentices, and new staff, providing planning, co-ordination and hands-on training, assessments, and feedback, to foster their professional growth. You will also build close links with partner universities and local education providers.

- The post holder will have a thorough understanding of the Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy role within Medicine Therapies Division and be willing to link with all Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy staff to gain knowledge across all areas of the Medical Therapies Division.
- To work autonomously as a specialised practitioner within their area of speciality and act as a role model to ensure that students on placement at UHNM aspire to this level of expertise.
- To work with the Medical Divisional Therapy Lead and Head of Therapies at County Lead to provide pastoral care and support for the current undergraduate Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy students/apprentices/senior and junior support workers.
- To work with the Trust to develop clear Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy pathways via multiple training routes and advise on staff professional development and career progression from B2- B8.
- To link with partner HEIs for both professions to develop placement learning outcomes and competency frameworks that reflect clinical developments and the changing needs of the profession.
- To maintain an up to date knowledge of the development of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy education.
