Haematology Medical Secretary

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has risen within the haematology secretarial team based at Royal Stoke Hospital.  We are looking to appoint a dynamic forward thinking secretary to provide a comprehensive and efficient secretarial service to the Haematology Team. 

Candidates must have obtained OCR/RSA Stage III typewriting or equivalent and have knowledge of medical terminology/audio typing clinic letters and experience in database systems. We are looking to appoint an experienced secretary so you should have demonstrable experience within a similar role working at at least a support secretary level.

Essential criteria
  • Good general education to include GCSE English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • RSA 3 word processing or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Secretarial and/or clerical experience
  • Audio typewriting skills/ Knowledge of medical terminology
  • 2 years’ experience working in an acute hospital setting

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office package
  • Knowledge of the hospital EPR system
  • Knowledge of patient administration and other related systems
Desirable criteria
  • Previous reception duties in a health care setting
