Imaging Department Assistant

The Imaging Department is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to the position of Imaging Department Assistant within the Community X-ray team at UHNM. 

This position is for bank hours only, which will be ad hoc depending on service need.

Imaging Department Assistants are required to provide a supportive role to the imaging team ensuring the delivery of an efficient and effective service; working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to give the best quality of service by assisting radiographers, nurses and medical staff .

A caring, co-operative and flexible approach to working practices is required whilst maintaining a professional attitude for the dignity and well-being of the patient.

Reception / clerical duties including data entry are essential elements of the role, however the role consists  of working clinically alongside Radiographers within Imaging rooms and also on portable imaging.

The duties are varied and include data input , reception duties, direct patient care, assisting Diagnostic Radiographers, maintaining stock in clinical areas and departmental cleanliness.

Successful candidates would need to be highly motivated, uphold the trusts values and have good organisational and IT skills.

Applicants must have previous experience of working in a caring environment and hold 5 GCSE's at grade C/4 or above to include Maths and English.

Imaging Department Assistants need to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. Out of hours working is an essential part of the role; these include evenings, weekends and bank holiday shifts along with working days in our peripheral outpatient areas. Bank staff may be asked to cover shifts at short notice.

The Haywood hospital is pioneering in many different aspects of rheumatology, the first community rheumatologist was appointed here and the development of a computerised drug monitoring system was implemented at the Haywood Hospital.
