The North Midlands and Black Country Procurement Group (NMBC) is comprised of The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM), The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT), Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (WHT), The Black Country Pathology Services (BCPS), North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust (NSCHT), Black Country Healthcare Foundation Trust (BCHFT), Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) and Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit (MLCSU).

The NMBC is responsible for all aspects of Procurement, Supply Chain and wider Commercial support to the aforementioned organisations covering a range of Acute, Mental Health, Community, Pathology Networks, GP Practices and Commissioning Support Units across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, Black Country, Shropshire and South Cheshire Integrated Care System (ICS’s). With almost 200 staff, 55,000 customers and managing a total non pay spend portfolio of over £1.2b per annum the NMBC is one of the largest and influential Group Procurement Organisations (GPO’s) in the NHS.

This post sits in the Commercial Contract Management team and is based at the Royal Wolverhampton New Cross site, reporting to the Head of Procurement- Commercial Contract Management within the NMBC.  

Main duties of the job

Commercial Contract Management and Delivery

        To  manage an allocated contract portfolio across Black Country ICS  Trusts, working collaboratively with partners and stakeholder to inform the development of a commercial contract management workplan which identifies opportunities to improve quality, value and cost.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Support the Head of Procurement - Commercial Contract Management in the development, implementation and success of the departments objectives.

Manage contract  performance practice through the development of governance strategies, setting targets and indicators.

Negotiate contractual issues ensuring all procurement processes are adhered to.

Analysis of purchasing activity data to identify contract development opportunities.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • Qualified to CIPS NVQ Level 4 or equivalent CIPS knowledge and/or experience which can be demonstrated using experience and knowledge

Experience

  • • Strong purchasing skills and depth of experience across a range of supply/service areas.

  • Ability to analyse complex information, interpret and/or present in a clear, comprehensive format
