Job overview

An excellent opportunity has arisen within the Early Intervention Team (EIT) for a Band 7 clinical specialist Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.

The successful applicant will be a passionate leader in urgent community response and facilitating admission prevention within the Emergency Department or Same Day Emergency Day Centre (SDEC).

The team works across health, social care and voluntary sector. The team is working closely with the ambulance service to take referrals from the ambulance stack and developing new ways of working.

We are looking for someone who is passionate to help support the team through change and development. The team works 7 days with extended hours.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an occupational therapist or physiotherapist with skills and experience in frailty, who would enjoy integrated working and being a trans- disciplinary practitioner. The role will also provide supervision and training to assistant practitioners and other therapists in the team. You will enjoy developing others.

We are also looking for someone who can lead and coordinate the therapy team, as well as working on service development as the team continues to work on urgent community response.

Although the role is based at West Suffolk Hospital, you will be working out in the community most of the time. Pool cars are available for community visits.

Structured continuing professional and personal development is available, presenting an ideal opportunity for a physiotherapist or occupational therapist with good clinical skills and knowledge to broaden their experience within a supportive environment.

The therapy team work 7 days per week with the service provided 8:00- 21:00.

We do our utmost to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for patients and our values of fairness, inclusivity, respect, safety and team work guide how we work and behave as a team.

With nearly 5,000 staff, from all over the world, we strive to make our organisation a great place to work. Whatever your role or ambition, we want to help you be the best you can be.
