Job overview

Provision of patient centred diagnostics services is high priority aim for our system. In this role you will lead the system strategy to deliver our current and emerging plans. This includes maximising our community diagnostics centre expansion and ensuring we develop and deliver transformation and improvement across all out diagnostics modalities. With several major projects in progress and a new hospital to plan for, this role offers the right person an exciting challenge.

Main duties of the job

PURPOSE OF JOB: 

·       To review diagnostics provision across the Frimley Health & Care Integrated Care System and develop strategic plans to meet the needs of the population, providing sufficient capacity to support the NHS plan to diagnose 75% of cancers at stage 1&2 by 2028

·       To oversee a programme of activity to develop and deliver new and improved models of service/clinical pathways to facilitate increased capacity with current resources, prioritising delivering faster diagnosis of cancer across all modalities

·       To develop diagnostics policy at ICS level

·       To implement the agreed ICS diagnostics plans and policies including the plan to increase capacity and reduce diagnostics times through community diagnostic hubs

·       To support the benefits associated with diagnostics networks to deliver transformation and improve acquisition and reporting times

·       To develop services so that NHS targets are achieved, and patient experience is optimised
