Main duties of the job

As a People Analytics Officer, you will be responsible for generating and validating regular reports to assist in workforce planning and performance management. You will maintain and enhance HR systems, ensuring high data quality and compliance with national standards.

Your role will involve extracting and analysing data for regular and ad-hoc reports, ensuring they meets the needs of various stakeholders within the Trust. You will also support data cleansing, validate reports, and contribute to continuous improvements in data quality. 

Collaboration with various teams is essential, as you’ll provide advisory services, resolve data issues, and offer training on HR systems. Strong Excel, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital to your success in this role, as well as attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include generating reports from the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) and other systems, assisting with statistical returns, and ensuring compliance with national data quality standards.

You will support the People Analytics Specialist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR information, and offer advice to users on system queries.

Additionally, you will offer training on HR system usage, contribute to process improvements, and support projects aimed at enhancing our data processes. Cross-covering other functions within the People Digital & Analytics team and supporting ongoing projects are also part of this role.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc) OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role)
  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience with using Excel (in particular pivot tables and XLookup) and Microsoft products (or similar)
  • Experience in the production of routine statistical and narrative reports
  • Experience of using an HR database system (e.g. ESR)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of database management

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Ability to extract, interpret and analyse data and produce reports
  • Knowledge of records management, information governance and data protection
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities with a varied and unpredictable workload
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of ESR and reporting tools
