Job overview

The role will lead the digital transformation agenda to support the design and deliver the digital infrastructure to deliver new model of care for the New Frimley Park Hospital, and use digital tools where appropriate to enable change and maximise the benefit of technology in the new hospital.

It is an exciting time to join the Trust as it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to be involved in designing the digital infrastructure and transformation. The postholder will be involved in the build of a brand new Frimley Park Hospital, which will be state of the art in terms of its design and how patients are treated or receive care for future generations to come. Digital innovation will be a key component in terms of design and care delivery.

 

Main duties of the job

The role will ensure digital enables improved patient access, integration of technological solutions to help operational teams manage workload, improve staff and patient satisfaction, and improve efficiency and sustainability of the New Frimley Park Hospital.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to masters degree level in IT, Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Prince2 project management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of providing strategic and technical digital advice to the NHS, comparable Trust and other stakeholders
  • Experience of leading complex digital change and improvement projects
  • Extensive experience of managing complex transformation programmes and projects through to delivery.
  • Experienced in reviewing and interpreting complex financial and analytical information to support the development of strategic plans and delivery of change programmes
  • Significant experience of using programme management and improvement techniques to drive change forward, including translating strategic objectives into tangible plans for delivery and following these through to benefits realisation
Desirable criteria
  • Experienced in the delivery of the digital requirements of a new acute hospital

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of the current health system within, the aims and aspirations of the ICS / Acute Trust and current national health policy, including national guidance on Sustainability and Transformation plans and Ten-Year Plan
  • Extensive knowledge of cybersecurity protocols and best practices
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare-specific IT systems
  • Excellent change management skills with experience of managing multiple stakeholders with competing interests and priorities
  • Ability to lead on complex digital systems, infrastructure selection, procurement and deployment
