Outpatient Clinic Co-ordinator Section Lead Band 4

To be directly responsible for the operational management of the Clinic Co-ordinators on a daily basis based on the Epsom Hospital site, but covering St Helier site when required. Ensuring that the service is covered at all times and that any local issues are resolved to the agreed satisfactory standard. They will be expected to support and occasionally deputise for the Operational Manager in regard to Outpatient Reception issues and in the management and development of the Outpatient Department, ensuring the department works towards agreed standards, making decisions and dealing with situations as they arise.

Main duties of the job

The Patient Services Division is seeking an enthusiastic person to join the Outpatient Clinic Co-ordinator Team as the Section Lead at both Epsom and St Helier Hospitals. 

The postholder will be responsible for the daily supervision of the Outpatient Clinic Co-ordinators and work closely with the Operational Managers within Patient Services.

Tasks will include being responsible for 14 reception desks on all 3 sites, dealing with staff issues including rota's, sick leave and annual leave. Dealing with staff and patient queries and allocating reception duties to the team as and when necessary.  Other duties will include managing patient complaints,  undertaking training with the team, reports monitoring and covering colleagues on reception desks when required. 

The post holder will need to be able to work flexibly between Mon- Fri between the hours of 8am - 5.30pm and some weekend work may be required in the future depending on the needs of the service.
