Band 5 - Staff Nurse OPD

As an Outpatient Staff nurse you will be responsible and accountable for the provision of high quality care to all patients who attend the department.

This will encompass flexible working within the outpatient department including across site where required.

The post holder will be responsible for setting a high standard of clinical practice, will manage operational issues on a daily basis, and work collaboratively with all members of the wider patient services and clinical team

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a Part time registered nurse position at St Helier Outpatients Department.

St Helier OPD is a large, dynamic adult outpatient unit. This role also incorporates cross site working to support Outpatient services at  Epsom Hospital if required. We cover a wide variety of clinics covering Fracture clinics , Dermatology Minor ops , Rheumatology , ENT and many more specialty clinics.

Applicants must have evidence of updated personal development, excellent interpersonal skills, be flexible, have an ability to work under pressure, and a strong desire to work in an Outpatient setting.

Previous outpatient experience would be desirable. Outpatients services positively support the learning and development of their staff. A teaching or preceptorship qualification would be beneficial.

Please note that these hours don't form set shift patterns and will be worked flexibly according to the needs of the service, and may include some evening and weekend work. Under exceptional circumstances there may be an occasion where you will work in a ward area

Please include in your supporting statement why Outpatients would be your preferred place of work .
