Clerical Support Anticoagulation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated individual to join our small, friendly, professional and supportive Anticoagulation Team based at St Peter’s Hospital. We run a challenging and demanding yet rewarding anticoagulant service with a patient caseload of approximately 900 patients.

In this role you will gain experience, in this full and varied role, in all aspects of clerical support for the anticoagulation service. The successful applicant will be working within a team as well as under their own initiative following training and competency assessment.

There are exciting opportunities to develop and extend the anticoagulation service for which the successful candidate will be an integral part.

This is a part time role working Monday to Friday.

The successful applicant will be required to have extensive experience in a broad range of clerical duties and be excited to embrace new and rewarding challenges to provide an excellent anticoagulant service for our patients.

Act as patients’  first point of contact to the Anticoagulation service, providing general administrative support via all media available. Advocating for a patient and their needs.

Performs routine administration duties including, but not limited to, data input, non-attendance follow up, clinic list preparation, incoming and outgoing telephone calls, monthly reports and stock control .

Administration liaison with other departments within the hospital including endoscopy, urology, pre op assessment, cardiology, pharmacy, point of care team and others.

To take part in the audit programme to ensure a safe and effective service is provided.

To take part in training and subsequent competency, for mandatory training  and the anticoagulation service.

Demonstrate a desire and willingness to participate and offer suggestions regarding service development as part of a valued member of the team.

To work flexibly as required to ensure that the anticoagulant service is provided to all our patients and users.

To ensure that confidentiality is always maintained.

T provide administrative support to outreach clinics as required.
