Main duties of the job

We have 2 permanent posts available to work as part of our i-access Drug and Alcohol team but also to work closely with the Family Safeguarding Team (FST).  1 post will cover the NW of Surrey and the other post will cover SW and East Surrey. You will have 2 years experience in Substance Misuse and mental health with knowledge, skills and experience of Safeguarding Children.

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, committed to working with people with substance misuse problems and supporting them towards improving their health and wellbeing in their recovery from addiction. There is a strong focus on the Think Family agenda and treatment will be delivered as part of the main i-access service within their different treatment pathways.  The role consists of providing clinical interventions including OST prescription management, alcohol interventions, BBV testing and vaccination for those parents who have complex needs including pregnancy, mental and physical health issues who have moderate alcohol problems.

You will also be a point of contact for Social Work colleagues if Key Workers are unavailable.

You will work closely alongside Children’s Social Workers and FST multi-disciplinary teams who meet regularly for group supervisions, Core Group Meetings, Child in Need Meetings, Child Protection Conferences and others.  Some FST appointments are home visits, with occasional appointments in SCC/SABP bases so being a car user is essential.
