Job overview
To work on a rotational basis within the department, providing clerical and clinical support for radiographers and radiologists ensuring a high quality and efficient radiographic service.
Main duties of the job
Full time / Part time positions - available
We are looking for a self-motivated and hard-working individual to help and support the clinical staff with a variety of tasks within the Radiology Department based at Epsom Hospital.
No formal qualifications are necessary but the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a caring nature, with a helpful and flexible approach.
Tasks will include caring for the needs of the patients during Radiology procedures and assisting the Radiographers and Radiologists when required.
You will also be liaising with other healthcare staff such as ward staff to arrange for in-patients to be brought down to the radiology department and the role of the helper will be to ensure both the staff and the patients are given appropriate information about the procedures.
This is a key role within the Radiology department in ensuring the patients’ needs are met when they attend the radiology department and the throughput of workload is supported efficiently.
You may be based in all areas in the department including the General Department, Ultrasound, MRI and CT scanning, and there will be a requirement to work flexibly on evenings and weekends.
You may also be required to assist the clerical team with clerical and administration duties
The role is interesting and varied and candidates must be keen to learn, enjoy a challenge and have the ability to use their own initiative.
Working for our organisation
Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.
We serve an area that is rich in diversity, with a mix of urban and rural areas, and differing levels of quality of life. We cover some of the most prosperous postcodes in the country, as well as some poorer areas. Together with our colleagues at NHS Surrey and NHS Sutton and Merton, we work to make sure that we deliver the best possible care to the communities we serve.
The Trust employs approximately 5,000 staff across its hospitals and is supported by over 500 volunteers.
