Assistant Psychologist – One Full time, 1wte (37.5 hours per week) across Epsom Community Mental Health Recovery Service (CMHRS) and Mole Valley CMHRS or two Part time posts 18.75 hours at Epsom CMHRS and 18.75 Mole Valley CMHRS at Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. Location – Epsom (Epsom CMHRS) We are seeking a conscientious and dedicated full-time Assistant Psychologist to work across two CMHRS’s. We are looking for a person who is a team player and able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team setting. A person who preferably has experience of working in mental health team settings. The CMHRS is for adults aged 18 years plus with complex, severe and enduring mental health problems. We have a multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, nurses and psychiatrists. The principles and philosophy of care are based on the recovery model. The post holder will be supervised by a psychologist to deliver therapeutic interventions for this client group including running of CBT groups, STEPPS groups and one to one low intensity interventions. They will be involved in service evaluations, audits, outcomes and service development projects. They will attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings and locality psychology meetings. The post holder will have access to appropriate training and continued professional development opportunities.
Main duties of the job
To support and enhance the professional psychological care of people who use services by providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions, under the supervision of a qualified psychologist working within the service, and by working independently according to a plan agreed with the team leader and the supervising psychologist.
To assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of outcome statistics, and/or other project work as appropriate and agreed with the team leader and supervising psychologist.
To facilitate/co-facilitate the running of therapeutic groups.

Education
Essential criteria
- Psychology degree accredited by BPS* at 2.1 or above OR Psychology degree accredited by BPS* at 2.2 and additional relevant Masters qualification OR Degree plus Masters level conversion qualification accredited by BPS* *BPS – British Psychological Society
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in relevant area, either voluntary or paid
- Experience of working collaboratively with others
Desirable criteria
- Experience in designing projects and analysing the outputs
- Competent in the use of SPSS for Windows including setting up databases, statistical analysis and presentation of results
- Experience working as an Assistant Psychologist
- Experience of working in a mental health setting
