Band 6

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Skin Cancer Nursing Team at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate registered nurse who is looking to develop their career, become a clinical expert, and play a key role within the Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). This is a part-time Band 6 position, working 30 hours per week.

The successful candidate will be supported to develop specialist skills through further study, clinical practice, and a structured competency framework. Working across both outpatient and inpatient settings, you will collaborate closely with the Skin Cancer MDT to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

A key focus of this role is the development of the nurse-led service across the entire care pathway for skin cancer patients. You will provide expert knowledge and clinical support, helping to drive improvements in survivorship care, personalised care, and the Supported Self-Management programme. Through partnership with the MDT, you will contribute to enhancing the experience, support, and outcomes for patients living with and beyond skin cancer.

The post-holder will act as a keyworker for a defined skin cancer patient portfolio at Frimley Health Foundation Trust. Key to the role is developing skills to provide specialist expertise and knowledge in the diagnosis and management of patients with potential skin cancer requiring investigation, treatment and surveillance following National and NICE guidelines.

The post holder will ensure the highest standard of clinical care is provided. They will be easily identifiable to clients and users, provide leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to provide support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. Emphasis on the areas of patient/client safety, patient experience, user engagement and clinical outcomes will be essential.
