We are searching for a dynamic and adaptable therapist to support individuals in achieving their functional goals at home following their discharge from hospital.

• Strong knowledge across a variety of clinical specialties.
• Exceptional communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Supervisory experience to guide and develop less experienced staff, student and rotational staff
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside a supportive and skilled team of therapist, managing your own caseload while delivering outstanding patient care. This is a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives by providing flexible, forward-thinking support across a range of clinical specialties.
This role includes some weekend and bank holiday working.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder assists in the development, administration and provision of a specialist Occupational Therapy service; carries a varied caseload of recently discharged patients. Managing complex assessment, with predominantly physical conditions and with regard to the physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual and social aspects of their care.
Directly responsible for the management of own caseload of patients referred for HOST assessment, rehabilitation and management within the multi-disciplinary team/community.
Assists in the management of the specialist team providing, developing and planning a Occupational Therapy service to patients for this client group
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Diploma/degree in OT by recognised awarding body e.g. Royal College of Occupational therapists.
- Must satisfy the criteria for full membership of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Further qualifications/Study
Desirable criteria
- An approved Occupational Therapy supervisor for OT/PT degree students
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the role of Occupational Therapy for people with a wide range of physical dysfunction.
- Able to assess for and fit basic equipment to facilitate safe discharge A/I
- Previous experience relating to specialist area
- Experience of working in an acute hospital setting
- Knowledge of relevant NHS and SS legislation
- Able to assess for and fit complex equipment and teach patient/carer in the safe use of these
- Experience with community/mental health conditions
