Expert Trainer for Managing Emotions Programme

The Expert Trainer will use their lived experience of emotional dysregulation/Personality Disorder to provide psycho educational courses to people within Primary Care who need to learn skills to better manage their own emotions. We also deliver a course for carers who are supporting people with complex emotional needs. 

You will be a role model to the other Recovery Coaches, supporting their facilitation and their development. You will provide supervision to identified coaches and lead on specific projects and responsibilities.

**** This role is open to people with lived experience of mental health difficulties who have 3 years experience delivering education in a mental health setting OR a degree level qualification in mental health nursing, occupational therapy or other equivalent and six months post qualification experience in a mental health setting****

The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role.

Main duties of the job

- Delivery of co-produced psychoeducational courses 

- Development and revision of psycho-educational courses

- Provision of supervision and informal wellbeing check-ins for named team members. 

- Leading of projects as agreed within the team

- Monitoring of shared email inbox and communication with group members. 

- Representation of the team at stakeholder meetings to promote the service and the ethos of coproduction

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Lived Experience of Mental Health Difficulties through own experience or as a carer
  • Degree level qualification in mental health nursing, occupational therapy or other equivalent disciplines
  • Professional registration with the relevant body i.e NMC or HCPC
Desirable criteria
  • Mental Health First Aid Training
  • Evidence of qualification in education

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 3 years experience delivering education and/or training in a mental health setting or 1 year experience delivering education with evidence of qualification in education
  • 6 months post qualification experience in a mental health setting
