About us

The Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of production management within a designated shift within the Sterile Services Department and Endoscope reprocessing. This will include; managing production inputs/outputs and quality (including prioritizing/re-organizing work as appropriate), responding to ad hoc questions and concerns from technicians and generally ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

To be responsible for the daily management of and compliance to the Quality System and ensuring the departmental staff carry out all tasks in compliance to European Standards. EN.ISO 13485 and Medical Devices Directive.

Supervise the team that is responsible for the decontamination of approximately 5000 complex surgical instruments ensuring that it delivers the highest levels of care and cost effectiveness in order to provide an effective and risk-free service to patients.

Be responsible for ensuring all the testing is carried out according to the prescribed schedule of all specialized plant and equipment, including Washer/Disinfectors, Ultrasonic baths and Autoclaves ensuring that they comply with all current legal standards be responsible for the provision of an effective surgical instrument tray service to all theatres, departments and wards on the East Surrey and Crawley Hospital sites and for the issue of supplementary instruments/packs to specialist users based in the community/district.

Carry out internal audits and ensure staff training of Team Leaders and Technicians is managed appropriately and to sign off as competent once training is completed to a satisfactory standard. To carry out return to work interviews and appraisals for Band 2 and 3’s and plan staffing across all departments shifts to support the production managers.
