Main duties of the job

The duties of the post-holder:

  2. Work closely with the orthopaedic and anaesthetic teams for the optimization of complex patients in the pre-operative phase and for the management of acute medical complications in the post-operative phase.
  3. Provide medical advice, supervision and teaching to junior doctors on the orthopedic ward.
  4. In carrying out his/her duties, the appropriate appointee will make himself/herself available to confer with patients’ relatives, if required, and to discuss DNACPR and ceilings of care
  5. Take an active role in clinical audit, teaching and orthogeriatric service development.
