Frimley Health Foundation Trust has a exciting vacancy for a Band 5 Dietitian to join our acute team at Wexham Park Hospital.
The caseload will have allocated core wards within the hospital and include an outpatient clinic. This post is part of a Band 5 structured learning programme and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop knowledge in specialist dietetic areas such as; gastroenterology and surgery to name a few.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to the student training and training commitment to other healthcare professionals which will provide the opportunity to develop teaching and presentation skills.
This vacancy is open to newly qualified applicants or those who are in the final stages of completing their qualifications and are awaiting their HCPC registration. At Frimley Trust we provide a supportive transition to the workplace, through a 12-month multi-professional preceptorship program run by our Clinical education directorate in collaboration with our Therapies department. This provides protected training, supervision, networking and education to enable our staff to reach their full potential and adjust well into their new working environment.

Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for the treatment of a designated clinical caseload and associated paperwork
- To autonomously run an outpatient clinic once a month
- To help supervise dietetic assistants and student Dietitians
- To contribute to the continued development, efficiency and safety in the dietetic department
- To participate in CPD and other departmental activity, including in structured learning opportunities to gain experience in dietetic specialities.
- To be flexible at times of increased capacity to the service

Essential criteria
- Recognised degree or post graduate diploma in nutrition and dietetics
- HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
- Member of BDA
Experience
Essential criteria
- Successful completion of clinical placement in an NHS setting or equivalent
- Recent relevant clinical experience
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to work single-handedly with individuals and groups
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- MDT working
- Organisational skills
- Problem solver
- Computer literacy and use of dietetic software
Desirable criteria
