Senior Respiratory Physiotherapist

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic highly motivated Band 6 to join us as a static member of the Respiratory Team at Wexham Park.

This role will focus on providing a highly skilled service to a range of respiratory patients across the Respiratory ward and 16 bed MADU unit.  As a static Respiratory Physio this post will support with designing and implementing new pathways such as NIV, Optiflow weaning, and Colomycin/ hypertonic saline neb trials. This role will also support training for the wider Physio team and wider MDT on topics such as tracheostomies, respiratory adjuncts and spirometry. The successful applicant will also support and lead on audits and service improvements on a wide range of Respiratory topics, such as the Bronchiectasis pathway, developing links cross site and with the community respiratory service.

Training and support will be provided in order for the successful applicant to feel confident in all areas of the role, including attending local IST and cross site respiratory IST. The Therapies team actively supports training for all staff with study leave, access to funds for CPD training and Practice Development posts who showcase and share training opportunities for the department.

Main duties of the job

  •     To provide a high standard physiotherapy service in assessing and treating patients who may have a complex presentation
  •      To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists/technicians/assistants and students and be involved in teaching MDT staff
  •         To participate in CPD and other departmental activities
  •      To participate in the weekend and on call service
