An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of an innovative and dynamic team, working within Help Me Quit smoking cessation service. 

In this role you will support  with the administration and engagement of  Maternity, Community and secondary care clients/Patients,  and be part of the wider team providing advice and support, to safely and sustainably, stop smoking. 

Also working on Engagement events within the Community, Maternity and secondary care, working closely with stakeholders and partners.

Main duties of the job

       The post holder may have contact with service users and will be expected to signpost/direct to the appropriate person/department.   

       The post holder will facilitate bookings on behalf of HMQ Advisors as needed, including virtual sessions, and Help Me Quit for Baby (Maternity)

       Provide Very Brief Advice to members of the public, health professionals and others on subjects relating to smoking and smoking cessation.

       Work to ensuring that inpatients and/or outpatients who smoke are identified and offered evidence-based counselling and smoking cessation medications .

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Facilitate engagement with hospital wards, departments and GP clusters, facilitating referrals into the HMQ service for individuals to quit smoking

Support local promotion of the HMQ service and engage with local partners, stakeholders and health professionals including GP surgeries and pharmacies ensuring high activity levels and service awareness

Support administration of the new Help Me Quit for Baby ( Maternity)

 

Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate experience in an administrative role
  • Experience of dealing with confidentiality, sensitive data, appropriate maintenance and storage of records
  • Working experience of Microsoft Office 365 Suite including use to Teams.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Experience of communicating with all levels of professional staff and the public
  • Good standard of education together with a high level of numeracy, written and spoken English
Desirable criteria
  • Working in an NHS environment

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Word processing to RSA 111/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent level of experience
Desirable criteria
  • Familiarity with Quit manager digital platform
  • Awareness of policies and procedures relating to dealing with confidential data, both personal and organisational
  • Knowledge of Help Me Quit Services in Wales
