The salary scale above has been agreed as part of the NHS Agenda for Change pay award for 2024/2025 and will be implemented in November 2024 backdated to 1st April 2024 where applicable.

Job overview
You will be the only dedicated Psychology Consultant in Lymphoedema in the UK and will be required to implement the delivery of clinical pathways for Psychological Therapies for those with Lymphoedema and Lipoedema/Lipalgia syndrome in Wales. You will join the established and award winning Lymphoedema National Team supporting Value-Based Healthcare avoiding unnecessary variation to ensure the most effective and efficient delivery of services.
The post holder will provide professional and strategic leadership which contributes to the development of strategic and operational frameworks for the management, assessment and implementation for high quality, evidence based, psychological therapy services.
You will carry a highly specialist clinical caseload including workshops, group sessions, individual virtual and face to face interventions. Lymphoedema Wales sees children and adults so there will be a mixed case load.
You will develop service strategies and plans, complete evaluations for Welsh Government who provided the funding and ensure that national targets are met with appropriate objective measurements, patient reported outcome and experience measures. You will work closely with the National Lymphoedema Researchers and National Lead dietitian ensuring data collection for publishing including national/international conference presentations.
The post is hosted by SBUHB but is a National All Wales role.
Main duties of the job
You will support the development of the Psychological Therapy Workforce across Lymphoedema Wales upskilling existing lymphoedema staff and working with another psychologist supporting mentorship, supervision and governance structures. This will also include supervising Psychology Students across Wales.
Develop a Lymphoedema Wales Psychology Strategic Plan with the creation of a supporting programme board.
To interpret Professional, National and International guidance on psychological interventions to develop plans within Lymphoedema Wales Clinical Network to deliver Psychological Therapy in line with the Matrics Cymru.
Act as an expert specialist resource providing developed expertise, guidance and consultation to other professions agencies and stakeholders based on national evidence tables and strategies for the delivery of psychological therapies. Foster positive partnerships with external agencies and NHS partnership organisations.
