Job overview

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the Swansea Bay University Health Board Finance Team, as part of the Capital Finance Team.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic, forwarding thinking individual, who will work as part of a team to ensure the new Swansea Bay University Health Board Finance Team are continuingly improving by identifying areas of improvement and supporting the team in taking forward projects linked to these improvements. These improvements include the on-going development of utilising technology to enhance the existing processes and building relationships with key stakeholders through influence

The Department is looking to encourage and support individuals in their development through on the job learning and through supporting formal accountancy qualifications.

Main duties of the job

 

To help support the delivery of the Health Boards Capital Resource Limit  by undertaking the following key duties

  •     The Finance Analyst will provide support & operational management for capital schemes & projects of an accounting & technical nature
  •        Provide support & operational management for the Health Board Capital Programme & Capital Asset Register
  •          Ensure the integrity of financial information, in terms of the technical & accounting nature of specific projects which impact upon balance sheet management & directorate performance
  •          Investigate complex financial queries, providing accounting & technical assistance & advice as required
  •          Ensure that work is completed in line with financial timescales & legal requirements, interpreting these where necessary
  •          Provide advice to colleagues, clients regarding technical accounting, best practice procedures, compliance with Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions & Financial Control Procedures
  •          Lead in the production of management information for the Assistant Director of Strategy & supporting Project Managers & technical staff, & to delegate budget holders across Directorates
  •          Investigate complex financial enquiries, providing technical accounting assistance & advice
  •          Provide support & assistance in the production of capital charges estimates.
  •          Complete statutory returns to Welsh Government in accordance with the guidance & the Manual for Accounts
